Charlie Daniels
Western Music and Cowboy Songs
Charlie Daniels was born on Oct. 28, 1936, in Wilmington, North Carolina. Daniel’s
musical career began after high school with a rock band. He was raised on gospel,
bluegrass, rhythm & blues, and country music. His musical talents included guitar,
fiddle, and mandolin. The band recorded their first album in Texas, an instrumental,
in 1959.
Daniels moved to Nashville where he found work as a studio guitarist, and performed
with recording artists such as Bob Dylan, Marty Robbins, and others.
In 1979, Daniels released "The Devil Went Down to Georgia," which became a
platinum single, topped both country and pop charts, won a Grammy Award, earned
three CMA trophies, became a cornerstone of the Urban Cowboy movie soundtrack and
propelled Daniel's Million Mile Reflections album to triple- platinum sales levels.
Charlie Daniels CD release "By The Light Of The Moon" is a tribute to cowboy music
and is a great music CD for kids.
