Western Music and Cowboy Songs

We've had many opportunities, in this review column, to express our feelings that much of cowboy-and-western music is best delivered in a simple and straightforward manner. One of the biggest problems with many contemporary collections is that they are over produced in the typical Nashville approach.
Well, here are 32 cowboy songs that are, in Don Edwards parlance, "unproduced" as simple as possible. Edwards plays his guitar and sings these songs. Nothing could be easier or better.
This two volume CD set was originally released as two book/tape sets, Songs of the Cowboys and Guitars and Saddle Songs. In addition, there are some selections previously unreleased.
