Edna Mae Holden is a lawyer by profession, but she’s all cowgirl in her heart. She grew up in Oklahoma ranching country and she’s to western artist Harold Holden. Edna Mae also hosts a weekly western music show on an Oklahoma radio station - KNID in Enid.
This album is her heart-felt tribute to the cowboy life. She wrote all 12 of these songs. Two are love songs - "One Special Man," and "Somewhere in the Past."
Richard O’Brien and Merle Harmon produced the album, and noted cowboy singer R.W. Hampton sings two songs, Holden’s "Bawlin’ Cattle," an excellent, tuneful song about a cowboy driftin’ round the herd, and "These canyon Walls."
There is a nice variety of song styles here. This collection is an excellent effort, especially for a first time album.
