The trio of Roy Rogers, Bob Nolan, and Tim Spencer would form the basis for the greatest western vocal group of all time, the Sons of the Pioneers. Nolan's writing single handedly established an entire genre of music. Bob retired from the Pioneers in 1949 but continued to write until his death on June 16, 1980.
