R.W. is one of the better contemporary cowboy songwriters and singers, and his poignant songs really help the listener understand what the world looks and feels like from that leather throne 15 hands above the ground. There are 22 tracks on this collection, many of which we've heard before on some of R.W.'s other albums.
This collection is presented by R.W. as if he were the "last cowboy" on Earth, in the year 2025. He's telling people what his life and world has been like. There is a bit of narrative between the great songs. It is thoughtful and heart rendering, beautiful and sad, touching, inspiring, melodic, and melancholy.
Helping R.W. present the material are outstanding musicians Rich O'Brien, Tim Alexander, and Tommy Morrell. And at one point, R.W. even throws in a yodel (even though, in his own words, he has tested "yodel free") on Michael Burton's "Night Rider's Lament."
What a wonderful tribute to the cowboy, by far the greatest hero the world has ever seen.
