Sons Of The San Joaquin
Western Music & Cowboy Songs

Brothers Jack and Joe Hannah, and Joe’s son Lon, form the cowboy singing trio known as the "Sons of the San Joaquin." The "Sons," like the "Sons" before them (Sons of the Pioneers) recorded many of the Bob Nolan and Tim Spencer songs that were popular back in the cowboy TV and movie days. In their later albums many of the songs being recorded were masterfully written, or co-written by Jack Hannah.
Joe and Jack first learned cowboy songs from their dad, who was a big fan of the "Sons of the Pioneers" and who liked singing them old cowboy songs. The Hannah’s performed as a family at various gatherings, while furthering their education and becoming school teachers. Lon, following in the footsteps of Uncle Jack and Father Joe, also became a teacher.
It was after the trio sang together at a family event that the cowboy harmony band, the "Sons of the San Joaquin" was established.
They were invited to perform at the 1989 Elko Nevada Poetry Gathering. There they met Michael Martin Murphey, and were asked to join him on his latest Cowboy Songs recording.
In 1992 Jack, Joe, and Lon decided to pursue western music full time, and since then the "Sons of the San Joaquin" have recorded many albums.
